(Prayer of St. Alphonsus.)
LORD Jesus Christ, who through the love which Thou bearest to man, dost
remain with them day and night in this sacrament, full of mercy and
love, expecting, inviting, and receiving all who come to visit Thee; I
believe that Thou art present in the Sacrament of the Altar. From the
abyss of my nothingness I adore Thee, and I thank Thee for all the
favors which Thou hast bestowed upon me, particularly for having given
me Thyself in this sacrament, for having given me for my advocate Thy
most holy Mother Mary, and for having called me to visit Thee in this
church.
I this day salute Thy most loving Heart, and I wish to salute it for
three ends: first, in thanksgiving for this great gift; second, in
compensation for all the injuries Thou hast received from Thy enemies in
this sacrament; third, I wish by this visit to adore Thee in all places
in which Thou art least honored and most abandoned in this holy
sacrament. My Jesus, I love Thee with my whole heart. I am sorry for
having hitherto offended Thy infinite goodness. I purpose, with the
assistance of Thy grace, nevermore to offend Thee; and at this moment,
miserable as I am, I consecrate my whole being to Thee. I give Thee my
entire will, all my affections and desires, and all that I have. From
this day forward, do what Thou wilt with me and with whatsoever belongs
to me. I ask and desire only Thy holy love, the gift of final
perseverance, and the perfect accomplishment of Thy will. I recommend to
Thee the souls in purgatory, particularly those who were most devoted to
the Blessed Sacrament and to most holy Mary; and I also recommend to
Thee all poor sinners. Finally, my dear Saviour, I unite all my
affections with the affections of Thy most loving Heart; and thus united
I offer them to Thy eternal Father, and I entreat Him, in Thy name and
for Thy sake, to accept them.
Indulgence. (1) 300 days, every time this prayer is said before the
Blessed Sacrament. (2) A plenary indulgence, once a month, for saying it
every day for a month; under the usual conditions. (Pius IX, Sept. 7,
1854.)

Visit To The Blessed Sacrament And Prayer Of Saint Cajetan
Look down, O Lord,
from Thy sanctuary
and from the high habitation of heaven,
and behold this sacred Victim,
which our great High Priest,
Thy Holy Child,
the Lord Jesus,
immolates unto Thee
for the sins of His brethren,
and be propitious
to the multitude of our iniquities.
Behold, the voice of the Blood of Jesus,
our Brother, crieth to Thee from the Cross!
Graciously hear, O Lord:
be appeased, O Lord:
heartken and do not delay for Thine own sake,
my God, because Thy Name is invokved,
upon this city,
and upon Thy people;
and do with us according to Thy mercy.
Amen.

Prayer To The Most Blessed Sacrament
My Lord Jesus Christ,
who for the love you bear us,
remain night and day in this Sacrament,
full of compassion and of love,
awaiting, calling and welcoming
all who come to visit you.
I believe that you are present
in the Sacrament of the Altar.
I adore you from the abyss of my nothingness
and I thank you for all the graces
you have given me until now,
and in particular,
for having given me your Most Holy Mother Mary
as my advocate
and for having called me
to visit you in this church.
I now salute your Most Loving Heart,
and this for three ends:
first, in thanksgiving for this great gift;
second, to make amends to you for all the outrages
which you receive in this Sacrament
from all your enemies;
third, I intend by this visit to adore you
in all the places on earth
in which you are present in this Sacrament
and in which you are the least revered
and the most abandoned.
My Jesus, I love you with my heart.
I grieve for having until now so many times
offended your infinite goodness.
I purpose by your grace never more to offend you
for the time to come;
and now, miserable and unworthy though I am,
I consecrate myself to you without reserve.
I give you and renounce my entire will,
my affections, my desires, and all that I possess.
From now on, use me
and all that I have as you wish.
All I ask of you and desire is your holy love,
final perseverance
and the perfect accomplishment of your will.
I recommend to you the souls in Purgatory;
but especially those who had the greatest devotion
to the Most Blessed Sacrament
and to the Most Blessed Virgin Mary.
I also recommend to you all poor sinners.
And finally, my dear Saviour,
I unite all my affections with the affections
of your most loving Heart,
and I offer them with you to your Eternal Father
and beg him for your sake
and for love of you,
graciously to accept and grant them.

The Blessed Sacrament
Lord Jesus, at the Last Supper as you sat at table with your apostles, you offered yourself to the Father as the spotless lamb, the acceptable gift that renders perfect praise to him. You have given us the memorial of your Passion to bring us its saving power until the end of time. In this great sacrament you feed your people and strengthen them in holiness, so that the human family may come to walk in the light of one faith, and in one communion of love. We are fed at your table and grow into your risen likeness.
Lord Jesus, you are the eternal and true priest who established this unending sacrifice. You offered yourself as a victim for our deliverance and you taught us to offer it throughout time in memory of you. As we eat your Body which you gave for us, we grow in strength. As we drink your Blood which you poured out for us, we are washed clean.
Lord Jesus, let the power of your Eucharist pervade every aspect of our daily lives. Let your consideration transform all our actions and all the events of each day into supernatural agents that form your Mystical Body. Accept the bread of our efforts and the wine of our sufferings and sorrows. Transform all life that will spring us, grow, and flower this day and all death that will emerge to decrease and spoil. Grant that we may carry out the work you have given us to do and thus be united with you at every moment of our day.
