I.
O august Queen of victories,
Virgin who reignest in paradise,
whose mighty name causes heaven to rejoice
and hell to tremble,
O glorious Queen of the most holy Rosary,
we, thy happy children
chosen by thy goodness in this century
to build thee a temple at Pompeii,
kneeling at thy feet on this solemn day
to commemorate thy latest triumphs
on the spot where idols and demons
were formerly worshipped,
we pour out with tears
the feelings of our hearts
and with a filial confidence
lay before thee our miseries.

From that throne of mercy
where thou sittest as Queen,
O Mary, turn down thy pitiful eyes on us,
on our families,
on Italy,
on Europe,
and the whole Church;
take into pity the afflictions
which overwhelm us
and the cares which embitter our life.
Thou seest, O Mother,
how many dangers of soul and body,
how many calamities and afflictions press upon us.

O Mother, keep back the arm of justice
of thy indignant Son,
and conquer by thy mercy the hearts of sinners,
since they are our brethren and thy children,
redeemed through the blood of our sweet Jesus
and through the wounds of thy most tender heart
pierced with the sword.
Show thyself to all in this day,
as thou art,
the Queen of peace and mercy.

It is but too true that we,
although thy children,
are the first who crucify Jesus in our hearts
and wound anew thy heart by our sins.
We confess it,
we deserve the severest chastisements;
yet remember how thou didst receive,
on the top of Golgotha,
the last drops of that Divine blood,
and the testament of our dying Redeemer.
And this testament of a God,
sealed with the blood of a Man-God,
appointed thee our Mother,
the Mother of sinners.
Thus, as our Mother,
thou art our Advocate
and our Hope.
To thee, amidst sighs,
do we lift up our hands,
crying for mercy!

Have pity, good mother,
have pity on us,
on our souls,
on our families,
on our relations,
on our friends,
on our departed brethren,
above all, on our enemies,
and on so many who claim the name of Christians,
yet wound the loving heart of thy Son.
Pity, O Mother,
we now implore thee for pity
on the erring nations,
on all Europe,
on the whole world,
that they may repair repentant to thy heart.
Be merciful to all,
O Mother of mercy.

What does it cost thee, O Mary, to hear us?
What does it cost thee to save us?
Did not Jesus entrust to thy hands
all the treasures of His graces and mercies?
Thou sittest as Queen at the right hand of thy Son,
crowned with immortal glory,
above all the choirs of angels.
Thou extendest thy dominion
as far as the heavens expand,
the earth and all the creatures
that people it are subject to thee.
Thy power even reaches hell;
and thou alone, O Mary,
canst rescue us from the devil's grasp.
Thou art almighty by grace,
and therefore thou canst save us.
Now if you sayest thou wilIest not help us
because we are ungrateful children
and unworthy of thy protection,
tell us at least to whom shall we have recourse
in order to be released from so many evils?
Oh! No, thy maternal heart
will never bear to see the ruin of thy children.
The Divine Child we behold on thy knees,
the mystical crown we admire in thy hand,
both inspire us with hope that we will be heard.
And full of confidence in thee,
we throw ourselves at thy feet,
we trust ourselves as feeble children
into the arms of the tenderest
amongst mothers and today,
this very day,
we expect from thee
the graces we are longing for.

a last favour

This prayer has been approved by the Congregation of rites, and Leo XIII has granted an indulgence of seven years and seven quarantines to those who devoutly recite it on the 8th of May or on the first Sunday in October. (Rescript of June 18th, 1887).

The Chaplet of the Queen of Light consists of a Sacred Heart Medal and 18 beads that are divided in 3 sets of 6 beads each.

On the first bead of each set of six, reflect on the meditation (found below) and pray one "Our Father...".

On the other five beads of the set, pray the "Hail Mary".

First Meditation

A thousand promises are not worth one small, meaningful prayer.

Second Meditation

"My child, it is necessary to keep close to My Divine Son, especially in the Blessed Sacrament."

Third Meditation

"I am the Mother of the hopeless; Mother of Sorrows. It is important for those that are suffering to come to me for consolation and for comfort."

The Most Holy Rosary

Most Holy Virgin, you have revealed the treasures of graces hidden in the recitation of the Rosary. Inspire my heart with a sincere love for this devotion, so that by meditating on the mysteries of our redemption that are recalled in it, I may gather the fruits and obtain the special graces I ask of you, for the greater glory of God, for your honor, and for the good of my soul.

O Virgin Mary, grant that the recitation of the Rosary may be for me each day, amid my manifold duties, a bond of unity in my actions, a tribute of filial piety, a delightful refreshment, and an encouragement to walk joyfully along the path of my state in life. Let the mysteries of your Rosary form in me little by little a luminous atmosphere, pure, strengthening, and fragrant, which may penetrate my understanding and will, my heart and memory, my imagination and my whole being, so that I shall acquire the habit of praying while I work.

Most holy Virgin, obtain for me the grace of imitating the purity of your Annunciation, the charity of your Visitation, the tenderness of your love of Jesus born in a stable, the humility and obedience of your Presentation, so that we may merit also to find Jesus in the temple of glory after having sought him eagerly on earth.

Sorrowful Virgin, teach me the divine patience that associated you with the Passion of Jesus and made you Co-Redemptrix of the human race. Let me learn from you the way of Calvary, Christian resignation, and love of the Cross of your divine Son.

Glorious Virgin, obtain for me that by meditating on the mysteries of your glorious and triumphant life, I may merit to be in heaven one day, among the ranks of your blessed servants, to render to you joint and eternal homage of filial love.

This Chaplet consists of a Medal of St. Dymphna and 17 beads as follows: Medal + 2 / 5 red + 5 white + 5 green.

You can state your personal intentions before starting the Chaplet or at the end.

Chaplet Of St. Rita

The Saint Rita Chaplet consists of three sets of three beads between a medal on one end and a cross on the other end. Begin the chaplet with the prayer to Saint Rita, and end with the three sets of three prayers on the beads.

O Holy St. Rita, exemplary Augustinian Sister, we honour you for your devotion to the Passion of Christ. Although your early life was filled with disappointment, frustration, and unceasing tragedy, you never lost faith and trust in God. For this you are the patroness of the impossible, and our inspiration and advocate in desperate circumstances.
Then pray an Our Father on each of the first three beads, a Hail Mary on each of the next three beads, and a Glory to the Father on each of the final three beads.

St. Joseph Chaplet

This chaplet has 15 groups of 4 beads (one large, often white, and three small, usually purple). On the large, or white bead, a mystery of the rosary is meditated upon, and two Hail Marys are prayed. On the smaller or purple beads recite the following:

Praised and blessed be Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

End on the medal of Saint Joseph:

Pray for us O holy Saint Joseph, that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ!

O God, Who has predestined Saint Joseph from all eternity for the service of your eternal Son and His Blessed Mother, and made him worthy to be the spouse of this Blessed Virgin and the foster father of your Son: We beseech you, through all the services he has rendered to Jesus and Mary on earth, that You would make us worthy of his intercession and grant us to enjoy the happiness of his company in heaven. Through Jesus Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.

Stations Of The Cross Chaplet

The Chaplet of the Way of the Cross (Stations of the Cross)

This chaplet consists of 15 groups of 3 beads each, between which are medals representing the stations of the cross. An additional 6 beads are added as well as a crucifix.

This chaplet of the Way of the Cross was granted to Vincentian Order by Popes Pius IX and X. Later it was withdrawn by the Holy Office (1912), since the indulgences can be gained by using the crucifix alone.

It is somewhat of a misnomer to call this a rosary. To the sick and to others who cannot go to a church to make the Way of the Cross the Holy See has given the privilege of gaining the indulgences attached to the Way of the Cross by holding in their hand a specially indulgenced crucifix and saying the prescribed prayers, the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory be 20 times.

A Suggested Way of Saying the Way of the Cross Rosary

On the Crucifix say the Apostle's Creed.

On each of the following six beads:

1. An Act of Contrition.

2. Prayer to Jesus Christ Crucified:

Behold, O kind and most sweet Jesus, I cast myself on my knees in Your sight and with the most fervent desire of my soul I pray and beg You to impress upon my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity, with true repentance for my sins, and a firm desire of amendment, while with deep affection and grief of soul I ponder within myself and mentally contemplate Your five most precious wounds: having before my eyes that which David spoke in prophecy: "They have pierced My hands and My feet; they have numbered all My bones."

3. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them; an dmay all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen

This Chaplet has 24 beads, each bead representing one year of Blessed Kateri's holy life.

There are 8 brown beads (the colour of the earth), 8 red beads (the color of blood), and 8 crystal beads (clear like water).

On each brown bead, say the "Our Father".

On each red bead, say the "Hail Mary".

On each crystal bead, say the "Glory be".

How to pray the Chaplet of Mercy and Forgiveness

This devotion may be prayed on the regular Marian Rosary of 59 beads.

History: This chaplet was composed by Chorbishop Joseph Saidi of Worcester, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Father Saidi was the pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Maronite Catholic Church from 1947 until his retirement in August 1977.

Begin by blessing yourself and kissing the Crucifix. Looking at the crucifix, say:

"Lord Jesus, we believe in You
as You are the Son of Mary
and the Son of the Living God,
Creator and Redeemer.
You came from heaven to earth
to save all mankind.
You are the Savior of the World.
You taught us to pray:
'Our Father, who art in heaven,

This Chaplet is a way of medidating on the Way of the Cross. On it, there are 15 groups of 3 beads, each, between which are medals representing the Stations of the Cross. An additional 6 beads are added as well as a Crucifix.

Beginning with the Crucifix, you bless yourself.

Prior to each group of 3 beads, say the following prayer,

"We adore You, O Christ,
and we bless You
because by Your Holy Cross
You have redeemed the World."
Then say,
1 Our Father
1 Hail Mary and
1 Glory Be.

At the same time, in each group of 3 beads, medidate on the particular station. These are:

1. Jesus is condemned to death.
2. Jesus is made to bear His Cross.

6. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus.

This Chaplet is prayed on the popular Marian Chaplet of 59 beads that consist of: Cross + 1 + 3 + 1 + Medal / 10 + 1 + 10 + 1 + 10 + 1 + 10 + 1 + 10.

Starting on the Medal and later the 4 single beads between each set of 10 beads, say the following prayer:

"God our Heavenly Father,
through Your Son Jesus,
our Victim High Priest,
True Prophet,
and Sovereign King,
pour forth the Power
of Your Holy Spirit
upon us and open our hearts.
IOn Your grat mercy,
through the motherly mediation

This devotion is prayed on the regular 59 beads Marian Rosary.

You begin by doing the "Sign of the Cross."

On the first large bead, pray the "Apostle's Creed."

On the next 3 small beads, pray 3 "Hail Mary...."

On the next large bead, pray:

"My God, I love you with my whole heart,
I repent of ever having offended You,
never permit me to offend You again,
grant that I may love You always,
and then do with me what You will.

Amen"

Before each decade, on the large bead, say the following prayer:

"Hail Mary,
0 Mother of the Most Holy Eucharist,
help me to believe completely,

On the 10 small beads, pray:

"This cluster of roses is the sign that you shall take to the Bishop. You are to tell him - in my name - that in this he will recognize my will and that he must fulfill it. You will be my ambassador, wholly worthy of my confidence. Only in the presence of the Bishop shall you unfold your mantle and disclose that which you carry."

Remember O most gracious Virgin of Guadalupe, that in thy celestial Apparition on the Mount of Tepeyac, thou didst promise to show thy compassion and pity towards all who, loving and trusting in thee, seek thy help and call upon thee in their necessities and afflictions; also to hearken to Our supplications, to dry Our tears and to give us consolation and relief.

Second Septet: The Flight into Egypt.

Prayer: I grieve for you, O Mary most sorrowful, in the anguish of your most affectionate heart during the flight into Egypt and your sojourn there. Dear Mother, by your heart so troubled, obtain for me the virtue of generosity, especially toward the poor, and the gift of piety.

Hail Mary...Matthew 2:13 After they had left, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, "Get up, take the child and his mother with you, and escape into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, because Herod intends to search for the child and do away with him."

Hail Mary...Matthew 2:14 So Joseph got up and, taking the child and his mother with him, he left that night for Egypt...

Hail Mary...Matthew 2:15 ...where he stayed until Herod was dead. This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: "I called my son out of Egypt."

Hail Mary...Matthew 2:16 Herod was furious when he realized he had been outwitted by the wise men, and in Bethlehem and its surrounding district he had all the male children killed who were two years old or under, reckoning by the date he had been careful to ask the wise men.

Chaplet Of The Blessed Sacrament

Blessed Sacrament Chaplet consists of a medal of the Blessed Sacrament and 33 beads, recalling the 33 years of Christ's life on earth.

On the medal one makes a spiritual communion as follows:
"As I cannot now receive Thee, my Jesus, in Holy Communion, come,
spiritually into my heart, and make it Thine own forever."

On each bead say:
"Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament on the altar have mercy on us!"
