Dedication Of A Family To The Precious Blood

Permit us, O Jesus,
to dedicate to you each member of our family.
Acccept each one of us,
and may every beat of our hearts
be an act of love for you.
By the power of your Blood,
may we be strengtened
and sustained in our daily difficulties.
May we be a sign, to each other
and to all with whom we come in contact,
of your life in us.

Bless our home, dear Jesus.
Bless our joys and sufferings.
Bless every moment of our lives
and especially the moment of our death.
After living for the glory of your Blood one earth,
may we have the joy of praising you eternally in heaven.

Amen.

A Prayer For A Family

O dear Jesus,
I humbly implore You to grant Your special graces to our family.
May our home be the shrine of peace, purity, love, labor and faith.
I beg You, dear Jesus, to protect and bless all of us, absent and present, living
and dead.

O Mary,
loving Mother of Jesus,
and our Mother,
pray to Jesus for our family,
for all the families of the world,
to guard the cradle of the newborn,
the schools of the young and their vocations.

Blessed Saint Joseph,
holy guardian of Jesus and Mary,
assist us by your prayers
in all the necessities of life.
Ask of Jesus that special grace
which He granted to you,
to watch over our home
at the pillow of the sick and the dying,
so that with Mary and with you,
heaven may find our family unbroken
in the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Amen.

Prayer of Parents for Their Children #1

O Jesus, Lover of Children,
bestow Your Most precious graces
on those whom You have confided to our care.
Increase in them Faith, Hope and Charity.
May Your love lead them to solid piety,
inspiring them with dread for sin,
love of work and an ardent desire
of worthily approaching Your Holy Table.
Preserve in them innocence and purity of heart;
and if they should offend You,
grant them the grace of a prompt and sincere repentance.
From Your Tabernacle watch over them day and night;
protect them in all their ways.
Grant that they may acquire the knowledge
that they need to embrace the state of life
to which You have called them.
Grant us a sincere love,
constant vigilance
and generous devotedness towards them.
Grant us all consolation on earth
and eternal reward in heaven.

A Parent's Prayer For Their Children

O Father of mankind,
who hast given unto me these my children,
and committed them to my charge to bring them up for Thee,
and to prepare them for everlasting life:
assist me with Thy heavenly grace,
that I may be able to fulfil this most sacred duty and stewardship.
Teach me both what to give and what to withhold;
when to reprove and when to forbear;
make me gentle, yet firm;
considerate and watchful;
and deliver me equally from the weakness of indulgence,
and the excess of severity;
and grant that, both by word and example,
I may be careful to lead them in the ways of wisdom and true pity,
so that at last I may, with them,
be admitted to the unspeakable joys of our true home in heaven,
in the company of the blessed Angels and Saints.

Amen.

Parent's Prayer

All praise to You, Lord Jesus,
Lover of children:
Bless our family,
And help us to lead our children to You.

Give us light and strength,
And courage when our task is difficult.
Let Your Spirit fill us with love and peace,
So that we may help our children to love You.

All glory and praise are Yours, Lord Jesus,
For ever and ever.

Amen.

Prayer For Parents

Almighty and everlasting God, You have lovingly called us into life by means of our parents who thereby share in Your divine power. Mercifully hear the prayer of love which we offer to You for those with whom You have shared Your fatherly kindness so that they might lavish upon us, as we journey through life, the consoling gift of Your holy and generous love.

Dear Lord, fill our parents with Your choicest blessings and enrich their souls with Your holy grace. Grant that they may faithfully and constantly guard that likeness to Your spiritual union with Your Church, which You first imprinted upon them on their wedding day. Fill them with Your spirit of holy reverence which is the beginning of wisdom, and enable them to impart it always to their children. May they ever walk in the way of Your commandments; and may their children be their joy in this earthly exile and their crown of glory in our heavenly home.

Finally, Lord God, grant that both our father and our mother may reach old age in continuous health of mind and body. May they deserve to sing Your praises forever in our heavenly homeland together with us, their children. May they give You abundant thanks for having bestowed upon them the great privilege of sharing in Your infinite fruitfulness and Your divine fatherhood. Amen.

A Parent's Prayer To Saint Joseph

O glorious St. Joseph,
to you God committed the care
of His only begotten Son
amid the many dangers of this world.
We come to you
and ask you to take under your special protection
the children God has given us.
Through holy baptism
they became children of God
and members of His holy Church.
We consecrate them to you today,
that through this consecration
they may become your foster children.
Guard them,
guide their steps in life,
form their hearts
after the hearts of Jesus and Mary.

St. Joseph,
who felt the tribulation and worry of a parent
when the child Jesus was lost,
protect our dear children for time and eternity.
May you be their father and counsellor.
Let them, like Jeus,
grow in age as well as in wisdom and grace
before God and men.
Preserve them from the corruption of his world,
and give us the grace one day to be united
with them in Heaven forever.

Amen.

A Parent's Prayer For Their Children

O Heavenly Father,
I commend my children unto Thee.
Be Thou their God and Father;
and mercifully supply whatever is wanting in me
through frailty or negligence.
Strengthen them to overcome the corruptions of the world,
to resist all solicitations to evil,
whether from within or without;
and deliver them from the secret snares of the enemy.
Pour Thy grace into their hearts,
and confirm and multiply in them the gifts of Thy Holy Spirit,
that they may daily grow in grace
and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ;
and so, faithfully serving Thee here,
may come to rejoice in Thy presence hereafter.

Amen.

A Father's Blessing

Father,
I thank you for the gift of my family
for whom I now pray
and upon whom I now ask you
to shower your blessings.
With St. Joseph as my guide,
may I always be ready
to spend my life for them.

Bless my wife whom you have given to me as my spouse,
sharing in your wondrous work of creation.
May I see her as my equal
and treat her with the love of Christ for his Church.
May Mary be her guide
and help her to find your peace and your grace.

Bless my children with your life and presence.
May the example of your son
be the foundation upon which
their lives are built,
that the Gospel may always
be their hope and support.

I ask you, Father, to protect and bless my family.
Watch over it so that in the strength of your love
its members may enjoy prosperity,
possess the gift of your peace and,
as the Church alive in this home,
always bear witness to your glory in the world.

Amen.

Infant Blessing

P: Our help is in the name of the Lord.
All: Who made heaven and earth.
P: Our God is merciful.
All: He is the Lord who watches over little children.
P: Lord, heed my prayer.
All: And let my cry be heard by You.
P: The Lord be with you.
All: May He also be with you.

Let us pray.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, begotten before time was, yet willing to be an infant within time; who love childhood innocence; who deigned to tenderly embrace and to bless the little ones when they were brought to You; be ready with Your dearest blessings for this child as he/she/they journey through life, and let no evil ways corrupt his/her/their understanding. May he/she/they advance in wisdom and grace with the years, and be enabled ever to please You, who are God, living and reigning with the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, forever and ever.

All: Amen.

The priest then sprinkles the infant with holy water, saying:

May the peace and blessing of almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, come upon you and remain with you forever.

All: Amen.

Act of Consecration of a Christian Family

To the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Oh most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we come to you as a family and consecrate ourselves to Your Sacred Heart.

Protect us through Your Most Precious Blood and keep us pure and holy.

Oh Dear Jesus, we are so far away from Your most pure and Sacred Heart.

As a family we need Your help.

Heal all the quarrels that exist in our family due to our unforgiveness and lack of love for You.

Heal our unbelieving and unconverted hearts and lead us to Your Sacred Heart with love.

Unite us as a family and remove all stain of sinfulness from our souls.

Help us to be a prayerful and loving family, so that through our example we may lead other souls to Your Most Sacred Heart.

We give You our hearts Dearest Jesus, and consecrate our family through the fourth generation.

Through the prayers of our Dearest Mother Mary, may we live this consecration every day of our lives.

Amen.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have pity on us.

P: Our help is in the name of the Lord.
All: Who made heaven and earth.

P: Save your servant.
All: Who trusts in You, my God.

P: Let her find in You, Lord, a tower of strength.
All: In the face of the enemy.

P: Let the enemy have no power over her.

Almighty everlasting God, who enable us, Your servants, in our profession of the true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the three Persons in the eternal Godhead, and to adore their oneness of nature, their co-equal majesty; grant, we pray, that by steadfastness in that faith this servant of yours, N., may ever be guarded against all adversity; through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.

A Mother's Prayer - #2

Oh Lord,
I need your help today.
I want to care
for those you've sent into my life,
to help them develop the special gifts
you've given them.

But I also want to free them
to follow their own paths
and to bring their loving wisdom
to the world.

Help me
to embrace them without clutching,
to support them without suffocating,
to correct them without crushing.

And help me
to live joyfully and playfully, myself,
so they can see your life in me
and find their way to you.
Amen.

A Mother's Prayer

Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day, With little time to stop and pray,

For Life's been anything but calm, Since You called me to be a mom -

Running errands, matching socks, Building dreams with matching blocks,

Cooking, cleaning and finding shoes And other stuff that children lose,

Fitting lids on bottled bugs, Wiping tears and giving hugs,

A stack of last week's mail to read - So where's the quiet time I need?

Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord, Just at the sink or ironing board,

To ask the blessings of Your grace,i see then, in my small one's face, That You have blessed me all the while-

And I stoop to kiss... That precious smile.

Family Prayer

O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us through Jesus your Son:

Look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
